Ending Chronic Homelessness (Shelter Operations & Optimization App)

Colby Buenaventura (Back to Home Page)

📋 Executive Summary

The goal was to develop a shelter management platform that addressed the operational inefficiencies and data tracking challenges faced by staff. The MVP emphasized ease of use, real-time data management, and a simplified intake process. Initial validation showed positive feedback, with staff noting better workflow and reduced manual errors. The MVP’s focus on centralized data management aimed to enhance decision-making, support cross-sector collaboration, and contribute to more effective service delivery.

Workshops and lean UX tools shaped the project direction, focusing on the immediate needs of shelter staff while considering scalability. The MVP’s development centered on making shelters more efficient and data-driven. A live wireframe prototype of the MVP was created to validate the concept.

📝 Note: The project team included John Anderson, an entrepreneur and the founder of Let’s Give Together, who sponsored the project.
